4th Grade Pickleball Tournament Result
The 4th grade classes just completed a Pickleball Tournament. The tournament games were held during their lunch period, over the course of about 3 weeks. The students that finished in the top twelve of their individual class tournaments were seeded and placed into a class vs class single elimination bracket. The kids showed much improvement in their skills over the course of the individual class tournaments and the noon hour class vs class tournament. The championship game lived up to the hype as both players battled to the end. I must say it was great to see such good sportsmanship displayed by both players and the classes as they watched the match. In the end it was Landon Bobb that pulled out the narrow victory (12-10) to secure his place as the 4th Grade Pickleball Champion. Congratulation also go out to Logan Kagel on being the runner-up. Both boys played very well.
2015 Punt, Pass, and Kick Local Competition
On Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, Riverdale hosted a Local Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition. The NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition is the official skills competition of the NFL. This year there were 34 youth athletes that took part in the local competition. Riverdale has seen its youth enjoy success in this competition and over the past seven years we have had four youngsters advance all the way to the Team Championships in Green Bay. We wish this year’s first place winners in each division the best of luck, as they now prepare to compete in the Sectional Competition which will be held in Middleton on October 25, 2015.
This year’s place winners are pictured here (left to right):
